Fabric Care Tips – How to Keep Your Fabrics Beautiful
Preserve the life, color, and beauty of your luxury fabrics with these essential care tips. Whether it’s silk, handloom, or embroidered material, proper care ensures they stay as stunning as the day you bought them.
1. Caring for Silk Fabrics
Always dry clean pure silk to preserve its sheen and softness
Avoid direct sunlight while drying — it can cause fading
Never wring silk; gently press water out between towels
Iron on low heat using a cloth over the fabric
2. Caring for Handloom & Natural Fabrics
Cold water wash with mild detergent
Avoid machine wash unless specified safe
Dry in shade to protect color and structure
Store with care, preferably in muslin or cotton bags
3. Caring for Embroidered & Designer Fabrics
Dry clean only, especially for heavy work or embellishments
Avoid folding on embroidery lines to prevent breakage
Hang on padded hangers or store flat with soft tissue in between
Keep away from moisture to prevent damage to zari or thread
4. General Fabric Storage Tips
Use silica gels or neem leaves in wardrobes to prevent insects
Refold occasionally to avoid permanent creases
Store light fabrics above heavy ones to avoid crushing
Avoid plastic bags — they trap moisture and may damage fabric
